Josh Olerud, the General Manager, Rockford River Hawks was our speaker today. His enthusiasm for Rockford, his position and his baseball team was very apparent. The Rockford River Hawks just joined the Northern League, which includes cities such as Winnipeg, Joliet, Schaumburg and the new stadium at Zion, IL. just to name a few. Kevin Costner built the new stadium in Zion and will be traveling to each club in the League sometime this year. So Ladies, keep abreast of the River Hawks news to find out when he may be coming to our city The Road Ranger Stadium hosts many events other than the 51 River Hawks. They host boy scouts camp outs, a family camp out, youth camps, High School games, plus loads of other fun times. Plus they do a lot of different menu items. This year is the first for a Cod Dog, as in fish. They are unique with an Appetizer Burger, consisting of chicken strips, mozzarella sticks, onion rings all wrapped up in two quesadillas. And if that isn’t enough to start your mouth watering, every Wed. they have a Money Dog. A mystery bill is wrapped around every hot dog, ranging from $1 to $100. Lots of folks don’t even bother to eat the dog when they buy this one.They are also expanding the seating capacity of their Diamond Deck, where for $25 you can watch the game from a covered, elevated deck, with all the food and drinks you can eat.
