Leon Rebodos – VP of Williams Manny Inc. was our speaker today. He spoke on HSA’s- Health Savings Accounts. HSA’s are the plan that pays you back! They have been around since 2004, but even 6 years later, not many consumers use them. One of his slides was titled, Why an H.S.A.?, and the answer was to combat the rising cost of healthcare via “use it or lose it” vs. “use it of keep it”. This program allows individuals to more efficiently manage their healthcare dollars saving dollars for not only them selves and their own future, but also helps keep costs down for both employer and employee. There are eligibility requirements and allowable expenditures from the H.S.A. account, but as people save for themselves, everyone’s healthcare costs decrease.
